Causes of Delay Asymmetry in Telecom Networks

Traditional, delay asymmetry have been of little concern to telecom and datacom technology and operations. This talk aims to illustrate the many ways that delay asymmetry is a consequence of various technological choices, and thereby affecting any timing system attempted over these network elements. By understanding these, it also helps to build an understanding of how existing networks will be challenging for operators to establish synchronization.
