The existing algorithms are based on linear model, for instance ptp, which requires frequent synchronization in order to handle the effect of clock frequency drift. This paper introduces a nonlinear approach to synchronize clock time. It can accurately model the frequency shift. Therefore, the required time interval to synchronize clocks can be much longer. Meanwhile it also offers better performance and relaxes the synchronization process. This is especially helpful when the number of clocks to be synchronized is large.
The fundamental idea of the nonlinear algorithm and some examples will be presented in detail.
