Julien Ridoux
Biography
Julien Ridoux is a Principal Software Engineer at AWS in the Greater Seattle Area, providing technical leadership to design and deliver cloud-scale, high-availability networking solutions. With nearly two decades of experience, he has deep expertise in networking, distributed systems, and microsecond-precision time synchronization that underpin AWS offerings. He led EC2 Core Technology teams for Fleet Lifecycle Management and spearheaded the development of Amazon Time Sync to ensure consistent clock accuracy across EC2 instances. His career blends academia and industry across Australia and the United States, including CTO work at the Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society and research roles at The University of Melbourne, and he is always looking for new engineers to join the adventure. Notably, he contributed to kernel timing work (RADclock, FreeBSD) and has published extensively, illustrating a rare mix of research depth and production-driven impact.
