Cort Dougan

Cort Dougan is Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Finite State Machine Laboratories, Inc. (FSMLabs), a specialist provider of time synchronization software and hardware under the product name TimeKeeper. Prior to TimeKeeper, Cort directed FSMLabs’ development and sales of the RTCore/RTLinux real-time operating system. That product and line of business was sold in 2007 to Wind River Systems. Prior to co-founding FSM Labs in 1998, Cort worked as a consultant on Linux and Operating System engineer for firms including IBM, Freescale Semiconductor, Intel, Red Hat, and for Sandia National Laboratories. Among his many technical accomplishments, Cort developed the port of Linux to PowerPC architecture and was the Maintainer of the PowerPC Linux Tree from 1994-2001. Cort worked at Los Alamos National Labs; received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, NM; and did doctoral research in Computer Science at New Mexico Tech, before leaving to co-found FSMLabs.
