The following guidelines are designed to help you prepare a successful WSTS 2022 presentation.
Tasks and Deadlines
- A picture and brief biography of each presenter will be posted on the 2022 WSTS agenda. If your profile does not already include your bio and photo, please submit a recent photograph and a one-paragraph biography as soon as possible.
- We will introduce you by name and affiliation, referring attendees to the online bio. Pronunciation of difficult names is requested.
- Please submit a near-final draft of your presentation using your Aventri log-in no later than Friday, April 15, 2022. A near-final draft will enable the co-chairs to better assess the overall session and offer suggestions. For example, if there is duplication of material between speakers, session chairs will flag this situation and ask speakers to update presentations accordingly.
- A final version of your presentation should be submitted no later than Monday, May 2, 2022.
- All speakers must register as a conference attendee. Please register for the Workshop as soon as possible but preferably before April 20, 2022. Registering sooner than this date will ease the effort of preparing badges and other aspects of the conference. Speakers can register for the discounted rate of $700. Click here to register and select ‘Speaker Pass’.
- If you are planning to stay at the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown Hotel, please book as soon as possible to secure the discounted WSTS rate of $199 as this rate will sell-out. The hotel will hold the room block until April 15, 2022. Click here for more information on booking hotel accommodations.
- ATIS currently expects to host WSTS 2022 as an in-person event. One of our foremost objectives at the Workshop will be to protect the health and safety of all attendees. To do this, we will follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC, the State of Colorado and the City of Denver applicable at the time of the event. Pursuant to these guidelines, we require all attendees to be fully vaccinated (two weeks after receiving two doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine) or provide a negative COVID test taken 48 hours prior to your arrival at the event. We will update you on any changes to the vaccination/testing requirements and will provide further information on COVID safety protocols and regulations as they become available.

Presentation Details
Presentation
- As you prepare your presentation materials, it is important to confirm that you have the appropriate permission(s) to use all information and images, including photos, contained in your presentation. In addition, as a PDF of each presentation will be posted on the WSTS website, any “proprietary” or “company confidential” markings must be removed. If you do not wish to have your presentation posted on the conference website, please let us know ASAP.
- Each presentation is allocated 15 minutes (20 minutes for keynotes). Please review the agenda for the time/day of your presentation(s).
- There will be a short audience Q&A period after every 3-6 sessions. Please be prepared to remain in the session for the Q&A period scheduled after your presentation.
- The Workshop is a technical conference and presenters are asked to refrain from including any slides or material that can be considered a marketing message. Co-chairs will ask the presenter to delete such messaging.
- Talks should focus on problems, solutions and technologies, not touting specific company products. All presentations or posters must be free of product marketing language. The best way for your company to present itself as a thought leader is to deliver a technically strong and interesting paper that demonstrates your company’s solid technical grounding in addressing an issue of relevance. Presentations should address solutions at a generic level, rather than focusing on your company’s specific product.
- The conclusion can, however, identify a specific solution. While “About Us” corporate overview slides are not allowed, one or two mentions of a specific solution per paper or poster are acceptable. This is especially effective in the closing slide after a problem has been addressed thoroughly. An acceptable final slide may include: your company logo and tagline, products without giving model numbers or names or pricing, a URL for more information, and appropriate contact information. Examples of questionable content include a list of products or model numbers, product pricing information, or images with clearly visible product names and logos.
- Help is available. Session chairs will work directly with authors to clarify any questions.
PowerPoint Slides
- Please submit your slides in a 16:9 format. Please do not use a 4:3 format.
- Your first slide should include:
- The title of the presentation
- Presenter’s full name, with any titles
- Presenter’s company name
- If your company’s logo is used on your slides, it must be placed in the lower left corner of the slide. A logo may NOT cover the entire slide and may NOT be screened (faded) behind the words or images on your slides.
- A near-final draft of your presentation is due by Friday, April 15th.
- The final version of your presentation is due by Monday, May 2nd.
Thank you for complying with these guidelines to help WSTS retain its reputation as the premier timing and synchronization event.
