Barry Dropping is the associate director of product line management for the frequency and time systems (FTS) business unit at Microchip Technology. Dropping is a 30-year veteran in the synchronization and timing field. He has held leadership positions with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Symmetricom, Inc. and Microsemi Corporation prior to the acquisition by Microchip Technology in 2018. His background spans marketing, engineering and operations management, and he is currently responsible for industry leading synchronization and timing system solutions for telecommunications, enterprise and military/aerospace markets. Dropping holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the DeVry Institute.
