Displaying a poster at WSTS 2027 offers a unique opportunity to showcase your cutting-edge research in a highly interactive format. Designed to encourage discussion on any WSTS topic, the poster session enables presenters to engage directly with attendees during designated periods of the Workshop.
During these sessions, presenters can answer questions, exchange ideas, and receive valuable feedback from fellow attendees — many of whom are among the world’s leading experts in synchronization and timing. This dynamic, real-time dialogue fosters a level of interaction and technical exchange that is often not possible during a formal Workshop talk.
Posters will be featured during dedicated poster sessions, giving attendees ample time to review each display before engaging with presenters. Posters may also remain on display throughout the Workshop during breaks and networking events, providing additional opportunities for visibility and for the audience to formulate questions for the poster presenter.
WSTS 2027 features Industry and Student & Academia poster tracks.
Covering the same topics and stakeholders as the Main Stage presentations, the Industry Poster Session at WSTS is designed to be an opportunity for technical experts to discuss their work with Workshop attendees in an individualized, casual setting. Authors of industry posters get to dive deep into a particular topic or technology and are encouraged to exhibit out-of-the-box thinking in their proposals.

In 2027, WSTS is hosting a Student Poster Session designed to welcome young professionals to the field of precise time and frequency. This provides an opportunity to display your work, learn from experts, and expand both your knowledge and network. Student Posters will be on display for the duration of the Workshop, alongside the Industry Posters, to provide Workshop attendees with ample time to view the posters and engage in discussion.
Posters must adhere to WSTS’ Presentation Guidelines.

Student Poster Award Opportunity
Student Posters are automatically entered into a competition for Best Student Poster, determined by the WSTS Steering Group. The winner will be awarded a plaque and a certificate, along with WSTS social media promotion for their work.
In addition, all Student Poster presenters will be awarded a certificate for their participation and their work will be published in the 2027 WSTS Library after the Workshop.
Proposal Guidelines
Abstracts should be ~200 words concisely explaining the research, innovation, procedure, results and discussion, identifying why the poster topic is important and innovative in the field. They should be designed to cover niche topics in detail and in an informal, highly interactive setting. Each poster’s abstract will be used as its description in the Workshop Agenda.
Authors may submit one file containing supplementary information along with the abstract.
Proposals may address any of the Workshop’s Technical Areas:
This technical area focuses on new developments, breakthroughs, and forward-looking innovations on foundational technologies, architectures, standards, and measurement techniques used to generate, distribute, transfer, and synchronize time and frequency. It is intended for foundational timing technologies rather than operational deployments or application-specific implementations.
We seek contributions that introduce novel updates, disruptive concepts, or advance the state of the art in timing generation, distribution, transfer, measurement, and synchronization technologies. Example areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
This technical area focuses on ensuring accurate, trusted, secure, and resilient timing in the presence of failures, attacks, interference, degraded conditions, or loss of primary timing sources. It is intended for resilience, trust, integrity, and security challenges rather than synchronization architectures or application-specific deployments.
We seek contributions that improve the trustworthiness, integrity, availability, and resilience of timing systems, or innovative strategies for trusted and resilient timing. Example areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
This technical area focuses on synchronization challenges associated with distributed systems where timing enables coordination, observability, scheduling, monitoring, diagnostics, and system correctness.
